UK - Design & Construction Experience

From 1983 to 1998 Tim Westmoreland was involved in the management of the design and construction of UK water industry infrastructure projects, first with Biwater Treatment and later with MWH. This has included management of multidisciplinary process plant - civil, electrical and mechanical - for water supply, water treatment and wastewater treatment.

Water Supply:

  • Borehole development
  • Pipelines
  • Service reservoirs
  • Pumping stations
  • Secondary chlorination
  • Water metering

Water Treatment:

  • Aeration
  • Clarifiers/settlement
  • Rapid gravity filtration
  • Pressure filtration systems
  • Chemical dosing

Wastewater Treatment:

  • Sewer - trunk mains
  • Sewage pumping
  • Primary treatment
  • Biological filtration
  • Oxidation/aeration
  • Sludge drying and processing
  • Sludge digestion plants
  • Biogas and CHP plants
  • Facultative treatment systems

Experience includes not only design and engineering management but also contract management (Contracts: ICE Design & Construct, NEC conditions, IChemE Red and Yellow Book), cost estimating and tendering.
